Rachel here, your hypno-birthing mum from earlier this year. Joel and I had a baby boy, Sid Benjamin Elliott on 7th April. He was a healthy 8 pounds.

Baby Myah's birth storyI attended a hospital antenatal class last year with a girlfriend (before I was pregnant) and gained the inbuilt fear the classes fill expectants parents with. The first class consisted of what will be wrong with your newborn child i.e. breathing problems, emergency C-section. The second class was about your drug menu to ease the excruciating pain.
I vowed that I would not attend these classes for myself. 'There has to be another alternative.' To add to the fear I had learned, I came to the realisation that this was the hospital I will have to birth my child. But I wanted it to be like the positive stories I have heard from my family.
